WNCG Student Seminars

On Friday mornings, the students of WNCG come together for the WNCG student seminar. Each week, a different student gives a one hour presentation about research they are working on or have recently submitted for publication. In order to keep the seminar informal and interactive, slides are banned and spontaneous questions and challenges are encouraged. Thus far, there have been nearly twenty such talks, on areas spanning the range of wireless communications and networking research. Recent talks have included

  • Feb. 21, Zukang Shen, "Dynamic resource allocation in multiuser OFDM systems"
  • March 21, David Love, "Limited feedback precoding for multiple antenna wireless systems"
  • April 4, Ming Ding, "MIMO DSL: Vectored DMT Transmission"
The seminar has successfully fostered collaboration and a sense of community in the WNCG that is uncommon in other universities. The WNCG student seminar was founded by Prof. Sanjay Shakkottai and is currently organized by Prof. Jeff Andrews.
