New ADSL2 Simulator in LabVIEW ADSL2 is the second generation of asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) systems for high-speed wired data communication for Internet access, video-on-demand, and other services to the home and small business, under the DSL banner. Professor Brian L. Evans, an ECE faculty member affiliated with WNCG, and two of his graduate students recently released the ADSL2 Simulator Version 1.0 on the Web at http://www.ece.utexas.edu/~bevans/projects/adsl/simulator . This freely distributable simulator provides a graphical user interface and functions in the National Instruments LabVIEW environment ( http://www.ni.com/labview/ ) to simulate a discretized multicarrier wired communication system. The structure and default parameters of the transmitter, channel model, and receiver follow the ADSL2 ITU-T G.992.3 standard (2003). A standalone executable of the simulation that runs on a PC without needing a LabVIEW license is also available in the release. Daifeng Wang, an MS candidate, and Ian Wong, PhD candidate are the two graduate students involved in this project. More information about Professor. Evans' research and development efforts in ADSL transceiver design can be found online at http://www.ece.utexas.edu/~bevans/projects/adsl . | ||
