Two Undergraduates Awarded Scholarships

Two undergraduate students have been awarded Radio Club of America (RCA) scholarships for excellence in their research and classwork. Felix Gutierrez and Daniel Zitrick, seniors at the University of Texas at Austin were awarded $2,000 scholarships in December. The Radio Club of America is the world's largest wireless society, founded in 1909 by a small group of dedicated radio amateurs and experimenters.

“Felix and Daniel have been involved in several funded research projects with me,” said Professor Theodore Rappaport, faculty member in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and Director of the Wireless Networking and Communications Group. “They are among the very top students in this year’s graduating class in ECE and I am most pleased with their work. The scholarships that the Radio Club of America has provided are key in giving gifted students the freedom to pursue their individual interests. I am most grateful for RCA’s support of our department, especially since they have been such an important part of my career.”
