WNCG has Strong Presence at 2004 IEEE Globecom Conference

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Global Communications Conference (IEEE Globecom 2004) was held in Dallas , Texas from Nov. 29 through Dec. 3, 2004 , and played host to over 1600 researchers from around the world. WNCG faculty and students played a major role in the conference.

WNCG Director, Prof. Ted Rappaport, served as Technical Program Chairman for Globecom 2004, and was responsible for organizing the complete technical program, which featured over 775 papers from authors from more than 35 countries. In total, 1200 technical volunteers supported the 450 person Technical Program committee. WNCG faculty members Robert Heath, Brian Evans, and Jeff Andrews, and WNCG Industrial Affiliates sponsors Chaitali Sengupta from Texas Instruments and Richard Kobylinski of SBC served on the Technical Program committee to support the program.

During the Globecom ’04 conference, WNCG faculty and studentspresented a total of 9 papers on the topics of MIMO, OFDM, CDMA, coding, equalization, and site-specific network performance.
