Andrews speaks on panel at ISIT

Prof. Jeff Andrews spoke on a panel at the 2007 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (http://www.isit2007.org/) in Nice, France in July.  The panel was organized by the IEEE Information Theory student society, and was on the topic “Funding in Information Theory.”  The other panelists were Profs. Vince Poor and Robert Calderbank of Princeton, Joao Barros of the University of Porto, and Ralf Koetter of the University of Munich, and the moderator was Sergio Servetto of Cornell.  The panelists tried to provide advice to students considering academic careers in areas related to information theory, and on the challenge of securing funding.  The panel was attended by about 150 students.
