ENS Renovations Scheduled to Commence Renovations to WNCG's office and laboratory space on the fourth floor of The University of Texas' Engineering-Science Building are expected to begin in mid-July. WNCG's facilities are currently quite limited by the floor's layout. The group's rapid growth has made the need for expanded lab areas for both faculty and students a top priority to ensure that top-flight research in wireless communications continues to thrive on the UT campus. When renovations are complete, WNCG's facilities will include attractive additional space for existing and future faculty and students, along with a comfortable and convenient library, state-of-the-art laboratories, and a conference room. "These renovations will greatly improve the quality of life for everyone in the Wireless Networking and Communications Group", said Dr. Tony Ambler, ECE Department Chairman. "We're all looking forward to having more space to continue our research into wireless communications, and to foster technical interaction throughout WNCG." Renovations are expected to be complete by the middle of October, just in time for WNCG's first Wireless Networking Symposium. |
