Rappaport Joins FCC Technological Advisory Council The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently invited Professor Ted Rappaport, Director of WNCG, to serve on the Technological Advisory Council (TAC). Founded in December of 1998, the purpose of the TAC is to provide independent technical advice to the FCC Commissioner and staff and to make recommendations on issues and questions involving telecommunications policy. TAC membership strives to balance the expertise and viewpoints represented to effectively address technology issues, and members are invited based on their recognized expertise in their fields. The next TAC meeting will be held July 7, 2003 in Washington, D.C. More information is available on the FCC website at http://www.fcc.gov/oet/tac/. |
