Taeyoon Kim, Aamir Hasan Receive David Bruton, Jr. Graduate Fellowship Taeyoon Kim and Aamir Hasan, PhDEE students under the direction of Prof. Jeffrey G. Andrews, received David Bruton, Jr. Graduate Fellowships from the Office of Graduate Studies at the University of Texas at Austin for 2004-2005. The Bruton Student Endowment Fellowships were established by The University of Texas System Board of Regents for the benefit of The University of Texas at Austin in September 1991. Students who have been awarded nationally competitive graduate fellowships or who have been nominated for Continuing Fellowships are eligible to be considered for this award. Taeyoon Kim received his BSEE and MSEE degrees from Yonsei University in Korea in 1998 and 2000, respectively. He is currently a PhD student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, and the recipient of a fellowship from the South Korean Ministry of Information and Communication. His research interests include multicarrier communication systems, utilization of the diverse of freedom, and resource allocation to maximize system capacity. Taeyoon received a David Bruton, Jr. Graduate Fellowship for 2004-2005. Aamir Hasan received his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering in May, 1991 from the Pakistan Air Force Academy, Risalpur. He completed an MBA from Preston University in 1997 and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California in August 2000. He is currently on a fellowship from the Pakistani Government and is a PhD student in the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His current research interests focus on physical layer and MAC design and capacity analysis of CDMA ad hoc networks. Aamir received UT Austin Texas Telecommunications Engineering Consortium fellowships for 2003-2004 and a David Bruton, Jr. Graduate Fellowship for 2004-2005. |
