Department of Defense renews WNCG Affiliate Membership

We are pleased to announce that the US Department of Defense (DoD) has rejoined and renewed its commitment to the WNCG Industrial Affiliates Program. They are actively engaging WNCG faculty and our student body through trips to Austin by DoD personnel (two visits in the past 7 months) and reciprocal trips by WNCG faculty to DoD research labs. They are also working closely with WNCG faculty Profs. Sanjay Shakkottai and Sriram Vishwanath in research projects on cross layer design for delay tolerant networks (DTNs). Along with collaborator Prof. Christine Julien, Profs. Shakkottai and Vishwanath are working on developing a full algorithm/software solution for networks with intermittent connectivity. To date, one joint paper between WNCG and DoD personnel has been written on this topic and other joint projects/papers are expected to emerge in the future.
