2008 Open House a Big Success

On February 7, 2008 the second annual WNCG Open House was held in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department. Dr. Sanjay Shakkottai coordinated this successful event as more than 20 individuals representing seven WNCG Industrial Affiliates—AT&T, Dell, Ericsson, National Instruments, Nortel, QUALCOMM,Texas Instruments—gathered to meet with WNCG graduate students.

27 student posters were presented to our visitors by the WNCG graduate students. The affiliates arranged for interviews to take place on the premises, so several students had an up close and personal opportunity to "show their stuff". Many students are now planning on interning at affiliate companies based on these interactions. Next year, we hope to have an even larger Open House for our affiliates. Plan on attending!
