Vishwanath and Bard lead EURECA Program

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has renewed the EURECA (Extensible Undergraduate Research Experience in Communications and Applications) at the amount of 300K for three years. EURECA, directed by WNCG faculty members Prof. Vishwanath and Prof. Bard, is an undergraduate research program that emphasizes minority participation in research in wireless networks and communications. This program attracts students from all over the country. Participating students spend their summer in Austin while working on cutting-edge research projects such as mobile ad hoc network design, cognitive radio design, sensor network design and deployment, and multiple other projects.

The NSF renews only a select few undergraduate research centers all through the country after a panel carefully reviews of each center's accomplishments. EURECA's history of attracting top talent along with its strong research record made this renewal possible.
