WNCG Announces Winners of First Student Leadership Award

Three graduate students are recipients of the 2006 WNCG Student Leadership Award.

Jeremy Chen, Antonio Forenza, and Aamir Hasan received the award which was created to recognize WNCG students that have not only exhibited excellence in research and academics but also specifically targets students with a track record of leadership in their interactions with the WNCG community as a whole and in promoting an environment of cooperation and greater interaction with industry, community and their peers.

“It is indeed a pleasure for me and my colleagues to recognize the leadership exhibited by these three graduate students,” said Dr. Edward Powers, chair of the award’s selection committee and WNCG faculty member. “We appreciate very much their many contributions to the growth and success of WNCG.”

Antonio Forenza and Aamir Hasan graduated from the University of Texas in May of 2006. Antonio will work for Rearden Inc., and Aamir will serve as a adjunct professor for the summer session before returning home to Pakistan. Jeremy Chen continues his Ph.D. work here at WNCG in the Fall of 2006.
