WNCG Renovations Nearing Completion Renovations to WNCG's office and laboratory space on the fourth floor of The University of Texas' Engineering Science Building are expected to be complete by the end of December 2003. When the Spring 2004 semester begins in mid-January, WNCG students will occupy approximately 7,250 square feet of sleek new laboratory/study space furnished with cubicles, office furniture, and computers generously donated by Motorola. The space will succeed in bringing WNCG faculty, staff, and students together into a community environment in the culmination of a project that has been in progress for the past year. The new space is fully carpeted, and the entryway is paneled in cherry wood that will feature plaques recognizing members of WNCG's Industrial Affiliates Program. Renovations have expanded into the hallways of the fourth floor, where the walls are being covered with new sheetrock to modernize the look of the facility. The renovated space also includes a library, a spacious conference room, and a student lounge area, as well as a state of the art electronic security system. "WNCG faculty and students alike will benefit from this beautiful new space", said Dr. Ted Rappaport, WNCG Director. "WNCG's students will be located in one central location, with ample space and computer equipment, and faculty will have new and updated lab space and security, as well as access to a private conference room." |
