Choi Receives Prestigious Livingston Fellowhip Wan Choi, a Ph.D. candidate under the direction of WNCG Assistant Professor Jeffrey G. Andrews, received the William S. Livingston Graduate Fellowship for 2005-2006. The Livingston Fellowship is the highest fellowship award made by the Office of Graduate Studies at The University of Texas at Austin . The fellowship is intended to provide recognition and full financial support to the most outstanding graduate students at UT Austin. Wan Choi received his B. Sc. and M. Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University in 1996 and 1998, respectively. He was a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at the R&D Division of Korea Telecom (KT) Freetel from 1998 to 2003 where he researched 3G CDMA systems. In 2001, in recognition of his research on downlink capacity for multicell CDMA systems, he received the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Jack Neubauer Memorial Award, which recognizes the best system paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology. His current research at WNCG focuses on cellular multi-antenna communication. | ||
