Bishwarup Mondal Receives the Dan Noble Fellowship Award Bishwarup Mondal, a PhD candidate with the WNCG, was recently awarded the 2005 IEEE - VTS Daniel E. Noble Fellowship award. The fellowship recognizes an individual most likely to impact the areas of concentration of the IEEE VT Society including "wireless", also known as mobile radio, motor vehicles and transportation electronics. The award was presented in the IEEE-VTS Conference in Dallas on September 27th. Bishwarup Mondal received his B.E ('97) and M.E ('00) degrees in Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering and Signal Processing from Jadavpur University, Calcutta and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore respectively. He is presently working towards his PhD degree in WNCG, UT Austin under the supervision of Prof. Robert W. Heath, Jr. Between 97-2003, he worked for four years with Texas Instruments and Sasken Communication Technologies, India. He was a summer intern with the Motorola Labs, Schaumburg this year. His current interests lie in the analysis and design of multiple antenna wireless systems with quantized/partial channel information at the transmitter and adaptive coding/feedback strategies for MIMO wireless systems. His research is supported in part by the Motorola UPR Grant award 2004-2006. | ||
