Prof. Evans introduces new graduate course for Spring 2003 - "Multidimensional Digital Signal Processing"
December 16, 2002
Prof Brian Evans of the WNCG is introducing a new course for EE graduate students. This course covers theory, algorithms, and design of image, video, seismic, beamforming, and other multidimensional signal processing systems.
Applications covered include video conferencing, desktop printers, 3-D sonar beamforming, seismic surveys, and 3-D medical imaging. Multidimensional signal processing has many suprises that do not appear in one dimension, eg. sampling on non-rectangular grids, non-seperable processing, and matrix-valued filer coefficients.
Co-requisites: EE 381 K-8: Digital Signal Processing Pre-requisite: EE 371 R: Digital Image and Video Processing, or EE 380K: Introduction to System Theory, or EE383-P1: Fourier Optics
