Gustavo de Veciana received his B.S., M.S, and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987, 1990, and 1993 respectively. In 1993, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin where he is currently an Associate Professor.

His research focuses on the design and control of telecommunication networks and development of CAD tools and embedded processors for multimedia and signal processing applications. Specific interests include performance evaluation, resource management, routing in large-scale networks, efficient simulation, embedded clustered VLIW ASIPs and system software.
