Sujay Sanghavi received his B. Tech from IIT Bombay in 2000, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2006, all in Electrical Engineering. He also has an M.S. in Math from UIUC. Sujay’s graduate research focused on communication network algorithms. From 2006-08, he was a postdoc at the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems at MIT, working on large-scale statistical inference and machine learning. He spent 2008-09 as an Assistant Professor in ECE at Purdue University, and joined ECE at UT Austin in Fall 2009.
While at UIUC, Sujay organized the first CSL student conference, and was awarded the Perry and Mavis fellowships. He has also spent summers at the Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control and Microsoft Research.
